United Cooperative Services is a rural electric cooperative located in Burleson, TX, ~20 minutes south of Fort Worth.
An estimated 877,000 Texans do not have access to residential internet, over 80% of those are in rural areas. As a result, in February 2020, we began constructing a fiber-to-the-home (FFTH) infrastructure to serve our 65,000 members across our 14-county territory.
Since activating service in May '20, the traffic requested by our subscribers has been steadily increasing. We plan to have >10,000 subscribers activated by year end 2021. To facilitate a more efficient traffic exchange, we are in the process of evolving our infrastructure to enable peering via Equinix Dallas.
We are open to both public and private peering.
